Monumental Confusion

Just your typical GenX geek.
I'm a 50-year-old husband, father of 5, and music educator. I give private voice, piano, and brass lessons, direct a local barbershop chorus, and perform in a barbershop quartet. I enjoy what many snootier musicians consider the "junk food" genres of music: drum corps, marching band, barbershop harmony, filk, satire, parody, comedy, etc..
I'm into a variety of fandoms: Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, MCU, Scalzi's Old Man's War series, Sanderson's Cosmere collection, among others. The fandoms I'm not into are likely just ones I haven't gotten to yet, and I enjoy being exposed to new ones. My pop culture and musical tastes are HIGHLY influenced by my parents, so most of them predate my generation.
